High Quality Dental Crowns

We are able to make and fit dental crowns of the highest quality at our Dental Surgery in Hungary. We have our own 'on site' dental lab who hand make every crown to the precise measurements and specifications of each individual patient.

Dental Crowns for Improved Functionality
Teeth that need a significant amount of restoration are obvious candidates for new dental crowns. A new crown leaves the restored tooth stronger than any other remedy and gives it the shape and appearance of a natural tooth.

Typically we fit new dental crowns to teeth that are broken, or have been weakened by decay or a very large filling, or following a root canal treatment.

Superior Cosmetic Effect
New crowns an excellent solution for discoloured teeth. Veneers are very popular and effective for improving the look of the front teeth, but they are unsuitable for the rear 'chewing teeth'. A combination of veneers and crowns can be a popular approach to a more attractive smile.

Misaligned, worn or misshapen teeth can also be corrected by fitting new Crowns. Many people think that the only solution to their problems is to have their teeth pulled and replaced with implants. This can however be quite far from the truth.

An implant is an artificial root and as long as your natural root is still firmly in place and free from disease it will often serve very well as an anchor for your new crown. Where this is the case we fill the tooth root and then insert a post into the hollowed root and locate the crown onto it. The post provides support and helps the crown stay in place. Using this combination of Post and Crown can restore even teeth that are worn or broken down to the level of the gum.

This approach can also give us the opportunity to correct the angle at which the teeth were set thus overcoming problems of misalignment.

Porcelain
Porcelain is less durable than the other options and may chip. In general it is not thought suitable for back teeth that are used for chewing. Porcelain fused to metal is more usually used for back teeth, but the selection of the most appropriate option is something we spend some time talking through with each client individually.

Zirconium
Zirconium Oxide is fast becoming the material of choice. It has been shown to be far stronger than the traditional porcelain and less likely to chip. Most importantly however is the way this material reacts with light. It has a translucency similar to that of natural teeth which means that a zirconium crown is very hard to tell from a natural tooth even when they are seen side by side.

Fitting
Fitting a Crown needs to be done over the course of at least two appointments.

First we have to prepare the tooth. This involves removing most of the outer surface, leaving a strong inner core. The amount of the tooth removed will be the same as the thickness of the crown. Once the tooth is shaped, we make a mould of it, which then goes to our laboratory where the crown is custom made for that tooth.

As part of this process we will consult with you over the important aspect of the new crown. We will discuss the shape and the shade of white to use. If you have a friend with you then (s)he can most certainly take part in this conference and we will often invite the technician who will make the new teeth.

Whilst the new teeth are being made we will fit temporary one's for you to wear if you need it.

Each crown we fit is custom made you fit each individual. We have our own on site laboratory who will make your new teeth by hand. This will take a few days. During this time you can relax and enjoy the extensive spa facilities that Heviz offers. However, very busy patients often opt to travel home  and return for the fitting the next week.

At you second appointment each new crown is fitted, checked for both fit and bite, and adjusted accordingly. They are then cemented into place. We like to do this at least one day before you leave us. This is because experience has shown that you will need some time to get used to the new teeth. This gives us the opportunity to check and adjust the fit.

Costs
Costs will depend on the materials used. Porcelain fused to metal cost 190 GB Pounds each whilst those made from Zirconium are 290 GB Pounds each. These figure include the usual sundries like local anaesthesia etc, but not x-ray which are charged separately.
